This special edition sneaker is the second Spider-Man themed Air Jordan 1 High, accompanying the recent release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The shoes combine a mix of various leathers, suedes, holographic patent finishes and patterns to create an imaginative sneaker, that slightly resembles the Air Jordan 1 ‘Chicago’ colourway but also stays true to the animation style of the film.
The vibrant visuals printed on the lateral collar panel of the shoe creates a glitch effect on the polka dots and the Air Jordan wing logo, as they are outlined with yellow and blue, which represents Spider-Man’s abilities in the film. This polka dot pattern is reminiscent of the typical style of comic books in the 80s, paying subtle homage to its original birth story.
Another notable design feature of this shoe is the glow in the dark outsole. The sole appears to be a solid red when worn in a bright environment, however when stepped into the darkness, the sole glows a pale yellow. This combined with various materials and colours coincides with the idea of traveling through the “multi-verse” creating an unforgettable design.
This rendition of the Jordan 1 High ties together the new and the old. As the take on the Chicago colourway gives nostalgia to old-school Jordan lovers, however, the varying textiles on the sneaker provide more details to relate back to the film and put a modern spin on the classic Jordan 1 silhouette.
The details and intricacies of the sneaker have been produced in family sizing, allowing all Spider-Man fanatics young and old, to enjoy these shoes. The Nike SNKRS release of Jordan 1 Spider-Verse ‘The Next Chapter’ was in late May 2023, however, sold out almost instantly.
With the fast and strong growing market over the years, locations like Melbourne, Australia have now gathered a lot of retail stores that are currently offering raffles or in-store releases for more Jordan products over the years. KICKSTW being established in 2013 was one of the first major stores to incorporate many sneaker styles, clothing & accessories available for purchase, in the peak years 2016 – 2018 the market had a lot of very great sneaker releases, collaborations by many designers or other brandings that made the sneaker market a lot stronger within the community, making it the one-stop shop for sneakerheads to buy their shoes in Australia.
Please be aware: due to the manufacturing process, there might be signs of red dye on the tongue and signs of tearing on the comic panels (by design). We will try our best to sort acceptable pairs for the customers, but we cannot guarantee every pair to be perfect. We will not accept an exchange or return for the above reasons.
