Yeezy Slide
The very first Yeezy Slides were made from a nylon fabric material as part of Kanye West’s Yeezy Season. The Yeezy Slides as we know them now first hit the scene at the end of 2019. As with most of Kanye West’s designs, they were not following any current trends, and in the very beginning appeared quite jarring. Looking back at some of the negative first impressions of the Yeezy slides is quite funny now, as the design of the Yeezy Slides has a become mainstream trend with every other footwear brand trying to imitate them. Adidas even had their own attempt at using the Yeezy Slides as “inspiration” for their Adilette 22 Sandal. Kanye West hit back and said “I’m not standing for this blatant copying no more, this is for everyone who wants to express themselves but feel they can’t cause they’ll lose their contract or be called crazy. These shoes represent the disrespect that people in power have to the talent.”
The Yeezy Slides feature an injected EVA foam which is very lightweight. This is surprising at first as from the pictures online they can look very solid and heavy. Instead, they are a breeze to walk in and provide plenty of support and comfort. Pair that with the treaded outer sole and you’ve got plenty of stability and traction. Released in many variations of classic Yeezy earthy colours and followed by some neon ones, there is a Yeezy Slide perfect for any outfit.
The YEEZY Slide is constructed of injected EVA foam and a serrated outsole with strategic groove placement for optimal comfort and traction, which is similar technology used in EQUALIZER OASIS Sports Slide.
Following an initial launch in December of last year, Kanye West has re-released the coveted YEEZY Slides in three colorways: Bone, Soot and Core. They are available in sizes for the entire family. Now available on KICKSTW.
