BOITE SKATEBOARD TRUNK, WITH DECK AND TRUCKS, 2017
Serial number, fabricator name and monogram, and manufacturing location printed on trunk and skateboard (trunk: 10.25 by 34 by 8 1/8 inches, deck: about 30 by 8 inches). Man-made lining with coated cloth and cowhide leather trim. Wheels, a tool kit, shoulder straps, and a linen bag are included. Thecollaboration project was executed in 2017.
The collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Supreme has garnered enough attention to be considered one of, if not the most, talked-about collaborations in history. The collaboration’s high fee was one of the factors that made it so contentious. Because the collection was developed and distributed by Louis Vuitton rather than Supreme, it was always going to be priced in the luxury brand’s range. Prices increased on top of LV’s standard pricing once the partnership and limited manufacturing aspects were taken into account. The Louis Vuitton x Supreme collection’s made-to-order trunks are by far the most rare and expensive pieces.
