The Air Jordan 1 was initially introduced in 1994 with the release of the Chicago-inspired Retro black and red variant, which pays respect to Michael Jordan following his retirement. Premium leather is used throughout, along with a white rubber midsole and a solid red outsole. Air Jordan emblems on the lateral sides and Nike Air logos on each tongue are signature branding features.
