1988 saw the release of the Air Jordan 3 “White Cement”. These were the shoes that Michael Jordan wore during the 1988 NBA Slam Dunk competition. Jordan nearly flew from the foul line to beat Dominique Wilkins, a Hawks legend, for the victory, as seen by those who were fortunate enough to see it in person or on television. A major turning point for the Air Jordan Brand, the dunk is still regarded as one of the greatest plays in basketball history.
