NIKE X OFF WHITE

The Off-White founder Virgil Abloh joined Nike in 2017 to announce ‘The Ten’ – a renovation of many of Nike’s best-selling sneakers. His first Nike job was the culmination of Abloh ‘s involvement in sneakers, hip-hop and graffiti. The guy behind the shoes requires few insights, as artistic director of Kanye West’s creative company Donda, Virgil Abloh rose to prominence in 2010. In 2013, he created his own brand Off-White and was appointed creative director of the menswear line of Louis Vuitton since then. Virgil was synonymous with the spike in streetwear in the last decade and it remains one of the major facets of fashion today through his work with Pyrex Vision and Off-White. He was widely praised by industry critics and named in 2018 among the 100 most powerful people in the world. “REVEALING,” includes the Air Jordan I, Nike Air Max 90, Nike Air Presto, Nike Air VaporMax and Nike Blazer Mid, and “GHOSTING,” includes the Converse Chuck Taylor, Nike Zoom Fly SP, Nike Air Force 1 Low, Nike Respond Hyperdunk 2017 and Nike Air Max 97, which were split into 2 sets of 5 shoes each. Virgil and Nike combined old and modern concepts to form an easily identifiable collection, both painstakingly artistic and comfortingly familiar. Subsequent releases have occurred, but none more iconic than the original ‘TEN’.
