The Anta Kai 1 ‘Artist on Court’ showcases Kyrie Irving’s iconic shoe’s first colorway made by the Chinese company. The performance hoops shoe was designed by a team under the direction of Jared Subawon, and it features a striking colour scheme that pays homage to Kyrie’s Native American heritage. Tonal no-sew overlays and multicoloured embroidery are featured in the lateral quarter panel and toe box of the purple mesh upper. The tongue has Kyrie’s personalised emblem in a metallic gold finish, and the adjustable forefoot strap has his name written in hieroglyphic-inspired script. A piece of pink TPU placed in the lateral foam midsole features the Anta logo, providing a combination of cushioning and responsiveness for on-court performance. For torsional rigidity, a carbon fibre shank plate is utilised.
